Sharon Canfield Dorsey – A Day At A Time…The Journey Continues… Oct. 1 – Oct. 11, 2019

Spread the love

OCT. 1, 2019:  I want to wake up tomorrow to ZERO news, just adorable cat videos.

OCT. 2, 2019:  My yard is covered in leaves – not pretty yellow and orange leaves, but dead brown ones. Haven’t had rain for weeks. May be time for the rain dance.

OCT. 3, 2019:  There was a massacre in my back yard today. A red fox got two of my neighbor’s pet chickens – white feathers everywhere. I know, nature, and all that, but still sad.

OCT. 4, 2019:  Have been working on edits of my new travel book, Road Trip. Can’t wait to get it finished and off to the printer. Will be out in November.

OCT. 5, 2019: Packing today for a trip to Corolla in Outer Banks, N. C., with three of my girlfriends. Weather fool is predicting rain all week. Rain here, please, not there.

OCT. 6, 2019: Casa Del Sol is our home for the week – a gorgeous 5 BR mansion on the Sound, complete with swimming pool, exquisite furnishings and glorious sunsets. Happy dance!

OCT. 7, 2019: Visited the Corolla Lighthouse. Checked out the beach for wild horses. Saw none. Rain predicted tomorrow. Gorgeous sunset over the Sound.

OCT. 8, 2019: Neither rain nor gusty wind kept the “Four Beach Babes” from exploring the south end of Outer Banks today, pigging out on delicious seafood and SHOPPING.

OCT. 9, 2019: Still raining and windy but decided to drive to Manteo on Roanoke Island anyway. Visited the Elizabethan Gardens and then drove down to Bodie Island. Had homemade ice cream on the way home. Yum!

OCT. 10, 2019: Did a really interesting tour of the Whalehead Club in Historic Corolla. It was built in 1923 as a 21,000 sq. ft. hunting lodge, complete with indoor plumbing and a saltwater pool in basement. We all enjoyed the art deco furnishings.

OCT. 11, 2019: Vacation almost over – too soon. Great week of seeing Outer Banks, rainy beach walks, shopping, delicious food, hibernating with our books, and amazing conversations.
