OCT. 12, 2019: My girlfriends went home yesterday and my top Mary Kay consultants arrived last night. What to do first today– beach walk, shop, lunch – how about all of the above, plus dinner out? Yes! Gorgeous sunshiny day. Game Nite tonight!
OCT. 13, 2019: Goodbye to Casa Del Sol and homeward bound. Rain started as we got to Williamsburg. We cheered. Need it so badly. My yard looks like the Arizona desert.
OCT. 14, 2019: Still raining and I’m still dancing! Some people celebrate Columbus, the Pirate, today. I celebrate Indigenous Peoples’ Day in honor of all the native people he was responsible for killing and the societies he and his explorers destroyed.
OCT. 15, 2019: I approved the cover for my new book, Road Trip, today. It’s colorful and fun. My publisher, Jeanne Johansen, did an amazing job on it. Can’t wait for all of you to see it.
OCT. 16, 2019: Day 3 of “home from vacation” and haven’t even had time to unpack. My critique group read stories today about the things they are grateful for. We are all very blessed.
OCT. 17, 2019: My poetry group, the James City Poets met today. We’ve become a “traveling show”, doing programs for the retirement facilities in town. We are a hit! Who knew seniors would love our poetry so much? It’s been a heart-warming experience for us and them.
OCT. 18, 2019: My patio doors off the deck need to be replaced so I’ve ordered the doors and am waiting for an installation date. My biggest fear is wildlife like mice and lizards sneaking in while the guys are working. Had a snake in the house last winter. Don’t want to repeat that!
OCT. 19, 2019: I love potluck dinners! It’s such fun to sample everyone’s specialties. Our neighborhood dinner was tonight and it did not disappoint. We have great cooks in Elmwood.
OCT. 20, 2019: I had a lot of stuff to do today. Scrapbooked my Arizona trip instead. Now I have a lot of stuff to do tomorrow. Oh well…
