JULY 1, 2019: One of my neighbors retired recently, happily anticipating a life of leisure. Not so! Now he works for his wife.
JULY 2, 2019: We’ve been having violent thunderstorms, several nights in a row. My Grandad used to say the thunder was God bowling. God needs to get another hobby!
JULY 3, 2019: We’ve often been told we need to live in the moment. That’s fine if it’s pleasant. If not, I’m going to need ice cream.
JULY 4, 2019: My wonderful across-the-street neighbor decorated every yard in our neighborhood with American flags this morning. May the 4th be with you too!
JULY 5, 2019: My husband used to accuse me of snoring.“Not! “I argued, “I’m dreaming I’m a motorcycle.”
JULY 6, 2019: If your wife ever ends an argument with the words, “That’s O. K.,” BEWARE! She is thinking long and hard about how and when you will pay for your transgressions.
JULY 7, 2019: Single living isn’t always conducive to cooking fancy meals. I found the perfect sign today. It says, “I know how to cook. I just don’t want to.” Amen.
JULY 8, 2019: My windows are rattling again from the latest scary thunderstorm. Really, God, have you thought about taking up painting or poetry?
JULY 9, 2019: Today would have been my mother’s 96th birthday. I miss her, especially on shopping days. Nobody loved it more or did it better. “Shop ‘till you drop,” was her manta.
JULY 10, 2019: Went a little crazy at the Farmers’ Market. Carried home enough fruits and veggies to feed a small village. Good news is…most don’t have to be cooked. Yah!
